Jay Clarkson (guitar, bass, vocals), Janine Saundercock (guitar, bass, vocals), Nicki Carter (flute, guitar, saxophone), Dave Toland (drums), later Paul Kean (bass)

The Playthings released two singles and a live LP that were distributed by Flying Nun Records. Paul Kean of Toy Love fame managed the band and produced the two singles on his independent label Playmusic. After the first single was released, Janine Saundercock left the band and Kean joined them on bass. Jay Clarkson would go on to form They Were Expendable a.k.a. The Expendables and Breathing Cage. Paul Kean later joined The Bats.
