Pink Flamingos

David Ewan McArtney (5 April 1951 - 15 April 2013) was a founding member of seminal Kiwi rock band Hello Sailor. When Sailor disbanded in 1980 He teamed up with Paul Hewson of Dragon to form Dave McArtney & The Pink Flamingos who were a popular live act and produced a string of hits. Their self-titled debut album netted them Album of the Year, Group Of The Year and Best Male Vocalist at the 1991 New Zealand Music Awards.

McArtney would also perform with Graham Brazier's Legionnaires and subsequent Hello Sailor reformations as well as solo projects, producing for acts such as The Narcs and work in film and television.
